May 11th ~ 2nd Saturday Acoustic Music Series
Kevin and Silas Bruner play their own brand of old-timey folk, a mixture of original and familiar country, bluegrass and blues. With guitar, voice and banjo, the father-son duo bring forth a rustic sound listeners will savor. The actual CBGB.

May 16th  ~ 3rd Thursday 7-9 pm
Poets Travers Marks and Tony Brewer, along with the music of Kyle Quass and Paul Kirk –“Empty Form” jazz. A world class listening experience in the Blue Room!

          Featuring the paintings of MFA candidate Linda Anderson. Linda completed her BA at Mt. Holyoke College in Massechsetts, and earned a Master of Science in Art Education from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where she was awarded the George Nick prize for painting in 2009.

Sassafras.  A Pop-Up Art show! One weekend only, six BFA students exhibit their very cool sculpture, Friday night Opening at 6:00 pm.

February:

First Friday, Feb. 1st  Gallery Walk, 6-9 pm.
          Featuring Atomic Sparks, a sculpture exhibit with light and sound by Iryna Hladyniuk. This work is made entirely of recycled materials. Sound and Light show reprise on Saturday, Feb 16th, 7-11 pm.

Second Saturday, Feb. 9th   Acoustic Music Series 7-9 pm
          Featuring Michelle Giansante and Erol Ozsever. Delight in Blue's wonderful acoustic sound upstairs each month in the Blue Room!  A great place to hang out, get some cultural exchange and enjoy the arts as a prelude to your Saturday night. Free, but all artists need your support, so donate if you can! 7-9 pm.

Third Thursday, Feb. 21st   Sound and Vision  7-9 pm
          Exploring the art of listening with the mind's eye, featuring local poets and musicians. In February, the return of local poet of renown, Shana Ritter, and Harpist Amanda Jensen, this time on her baroque harp.

Gallery Walk, Dec. 7th

Dale Gardner's Stop Light Theatre features End Of Opposites, by Janas Hoyt, a meditation on a theme, based on the quote “Death is the opposite of Birth, and there is no opposite of Life”.

Visible from the street, this interactive display shows a short projection in Blue's upstairs window overlooking S. College Ave. Timed with the light, you can watch from your auto while you wait for the green at 4th St.!

Inside, Interactive Art Generator: play with art made by your own movements in the gallery and enjoy the atmosphere and company. Take advantage of Christmas discounts on all art.

November 2nd, First Friday


Join us at Blue Studio Gallery this Friday for an art mixer beginning at 6:00 pm. Poets; Tony Brewer, John Isbell, and Ian Uriel Gurdley at 7:00, followed by live music from Payton Purnell, featuring Jason Payton of 220 Breakers and Crooked County’s Toby Purnell!

October 5th: Gallery Walk!! 6-10 pm

BlueStudioGallery joins the BEAD District and Gallery Walk Group Friday, October 5th with its current showcase of Fine Art prints from renowned Photographer Tom Casalini's Private Collection, as well as two feature presentations of collaborator Dale Gardner's Interactive Digital Media. Get a look at Dale's Stop Light Movies in the South window, from streetside at 4th and College, and join in an Interactive Media "Mirage" upstairs.  BlueStudioGallery is also taking part in Bloom Magazine's Front Page Challenge with an ongoing public art project. Visitors to the studio can participate in Take Part In Art, an installation to benefit our local United Way Girl's, Inc. by adding their own chip to the colorful Modern Art screen growing in Blue's Big downtown windows. This artwork is based on Mid-Century Modern Artists Russel and Mary Wright, and is part of Blue's Kid Made Modern series of Art Classes for Kids, sponsored by Renwick Art Initiative. Paint chips for Blue's Take Part In Art are generously donated by Bloomington Paint and Wallpaper.
